Second Ever Baptism Experience

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Wow!  Last week was unbelievable.…We had our largest attendance to date with 297 people, and 7 of them put their faith in Christ.  And this Sunday is going to be even better as we’re having our second ever baptism service.  It will take place at the MSU pool immediately following our morning Worship Experience at the Morehead Conference Center.  On top of that, a crew from the Kentucky Baptist Convention is coming down to film both our Worship Experience and baptism service.  So come early and bring your friends as we wrap up “Religion Bytes” with the fourth and final message aimed at exposing the differences between just being religious and being a true follower of Jesus Christ.

If you still want to get baptized, it’s not too late for you to jump in and take the plunge.  Just email us or be ready on Sunday morning to get baptized.  Here’s what you need to know if you decide to get baptized…

1.  Come prepared to leave the Worship Experience a little early.  You’ll be dismissed a few minutes before everything wraps up so you can head on up to the MSU pool and get ready.  When dismissed, go straight to the locker rooms of the MSU pool (directions will be provided and someone will be at the pool to help you find your way around) and prepare for your baptism (change clothes, etc.).  Stay in the locker rooms until someone lets you know that it’s time to come out.

2.  For your baptism, wear your Crosspoint t-shirt and dark pants/jeans/long shorts.  If you don’t have a Crosspoint t-shirt, one will be provided.

3.  Since full locker rooms (showers, etc.) will be available, bring as little or as much as you want with regard to fixing yourself back up after your baptism.  At the very least, though, bring a dry change of clothes.

4.  Bring 1 or 2 large towels.

If you’re interested in baptism but still have questions, you can click HERE to listen to a baptism message that I recently preached.

Again, this is going to be an awesome day for you all being baptized….Bring ALL your friends and family….All the special people in your lives need to be at Crosspoint this Sunday!

  • Folks, this Sunday is going to be just as great as the last.

Please do everything in your power to get to Crosspoint anyone you know who’s far from God.  Also, if you’re interested in being baptized on the 28th, email me as soon as possible.

Crosspointers, keep up the great work…We’ve just barely caught a glimpse of what God is going to do here in Morehead, KY!

Life Change…

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Wow!  What an awesome day we had yesterday!  I knew people were going to give their lives to Jesus….I told my wife as much on Saturday night.  Folks, I really believe that the only hope for this world is the simple message of Jesus.  Yesterday, 7 people decided to follow Jesus for the first time in their lives, and Crosspoint went crazy just like heaven went crazy.  Crosspoint didn’t have a monopoly on all the good stuff yesterday, though….Last night I preached in Corbin, KY, and, following a short gospel presentation, an 18-year-old boy came forward, broken over his sins.  What causes something like that?  The simplicity of the Gospel.

I encourage you all to keep inviting and bringing to Crosspoint people who do not know Jesus so they can experience the same life change that you have.  If you really believe that Jesus changes people’s lives, then do whatever you can to get them to a place where they’ll hear the greatest message in the world…”For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not die but will have everlasting life.”  Wow!  I love seeing life change take place, and I hope you do, too!

Come next week believing in God and expecting God to do great things!

Wow…11 Years

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

On September 2, 1997, my life totally changed.  God wrecked me!  And I mean that in a good way.  I will never forget that night in my dorm room when I turned my life over to Jesus.  The last 11 years have been the best years of my life.  God has blessed me and has been so faithful to me.  I have an unbelievable wife, two incredible boys, and a church that I can’t wait to get to on Sunday mornings!  Without Jesus, I would not be where I am today.

Last weekend was awesome.  On Friday night I went on a date with my wife…It was great!  On Sunday we had great attendance for a holiday weekend, and yesterday we ate Chinese.

Please pray for me this week…

  • I’ll be speaking tonight at TNL.
  • I’ll be sharing with the Black Gospel Ensemble on Thursday night.
  • I’ll be preaching at Crosspoint this Sunday morning.
  • I’ll be preaching Sunday night in Corbin, KY.

This Sunday is going to be incredible!  I’ll be preaching on the differences between being religious and being a Christian.  Please invite everyone you know who’s far from God.  Why?  We’re expecting a great harvest this month…Keep believing and show up with the expectation that God is going to move.
