Small Groups
Thursday, April 3rd, 2008I had the opportunity to visit a men’s small group tonight, and, let me tell you, what I saw and heard was overwhelming. I saw these men with their Bibles in hand, reading scripture aloud and helping one another dig deeper into the Word. (For more about carrying your Bibles, you must read this post by Clayton King). That was impressive. What completely overwhelmed me, though, was when I heard them open up their hearts. They talked about their struggles, temptations and issues they have in their lives. I heard grown men confessing sin to one another, openly and freely, without worrying about what everyone else was thinking. WOW! Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about! Folks, that’s the essence of small groups. Here at Crosspoint Church, we really believe that God has designed us to experience life together. God knew that we would need each other to get us through this life. I know some of you are thinking that Jesus is all you need. Well, that’s true when it comes to salvation, but God has created us to do life together. In the beginning, Adam experienced perfect fellowship with God. They walked together and talked together, and everything seemed to be perfect. But then God said, “It is not good for man to be alone.” God knew that we would need others to help us through this life. Although our small groups run in semesters, I encourage you, if you are not already participating in one, to go ahead and get plugged in now. Click here to sign up!
