Sunday Recap

Sunday, May 24th, 2009
  • Great day with good attendance.
  • Really felt the energy was good and God was speaking to people.
  • A college student came up to me and told me when she was in middle school I preached at a camp and had those who wanted to follow Christ to stand up.  She just wanted to share with me that she was one of the students that stood up and will be working at that camp this summer.  WOW!  That was really encouraging!!!
  • Had a guy who hitched hike all the way from Detroit to move to Morehead show up for the first time this morning and told me he was excited about being at church.
  • We rolled out a new t-shirt for FTG’s!
  • My mom was in the second service so I had to be on my best behavior.  Gotta make momma proud…LOL!
  • Went to Cici’s Pizza after church and had a blast.  Johnnie Johnson spanked our tails at the basketball game in the back.  In fact, he broke the record by 16 points.  Still in shock about that one!
  • Already pumped about One Prayer starting in June.  It’s going to be freakin awesome.  Also hoping that 100 GSP’ers show up again for the end of One Prayer.  That would be awesome!
  • Really been praying through some major decisions and God has spoken to me through people who are much wiser than me.  Still have a couple of things that need clarity but trusting the Lord will show me soon.
  • Talked with GaryLamb.org yesterday and they amost baptized the whole town today…God is really moving in Canton, GA.
  • Pumped about our baptism service on June 7th, at the MSU pool.  If you want to be baptized, then email me at pastor@crosspointchurch.com.
  • Don’t forget to go to www.crosspointchurch.com/crazylove to post your Crazy Love story!
  • Ok…I am off to spend some time with my mom before she has to leave in the morning!  Peace!!

Crazy Sunday

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

On Easter Sunday we kicked off a brand new series called “Crazy Love” and it was awesome!  Here are some crazy things that took place…

  • 15 people decided to follow Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
  • 93 kids in Kidspoint!  23 were infants…Someone is reading the Song of Solomon!  Keep it up!
  • 483 people in attendance and most of our college students were gone. (That’s 323 more people than last Easter.)
By far one of our greatest Sundays ever in our short history!  Do you know what is really crazy?  It all happens again next week.  This time not on Sunday but on Tuesday night, April 21st at 7:00pm.  I will share more about our crazy schedule later this week.
Call me crazy but I really believe the best is still yet to come!

Video Preacher

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Last Sunday we showed a video of Louie Giglio and four people gave their lives to Jesus.  That is awesome! Our people love video messages!  I know there are some haters out there who believe video preaching doesn’t work…Well someone forgot to tell God that!

I really enjoyed taking Sunday off to relax and be refreshed.  This was the second Sunday I have missed since we launched Crosspoint Church in January 2008.  However, my absence reminded me of just how much I love Crosspoint Church.  I really believe God is doing something very special in Morehead, KY and I can’t believe we all get to be apart of it.

Quick prayer request…Tonight I have the opportunity to speak to 400-500 college students.  I have been asked to share my story how God has changed my life.  Please pray that God will use my testimony to speak into these student’s lives.  Thanks!

Thanks…

Thanks to all our volunteers who make Sunday mornings so awesome!  We couldn’t do this with out you.  We would love for you to go to Unleash with us.  Tickets are running out, so hurry and sign up at the information table!

Please be praying for me this week as I will be traveling a lot.  Louisville tonight, Lexington tomorrow and Atlanta on Wednesday.  I will be back for Sunday because it is going to be the best Sunday in the history of Crosspoint Church.  Trust me, you do not want to miss it!!!

Thank You…

Yesterday was unbelievable.  For the first time since October we had all Crosspointers together for one worship experience on MSU’s campus.  The place was packed out, the band rocked, Kidspoint looked awesome, and lives were changed!

Being a portable church has it’s obstacles.  Yesterday we could not back down to the side door at Button due to the ice on the road.  So we had to unload our whole trailer from the top and carry all or our equipment down two flights of stairs.  One thing that really excites me about Crosspoint Church are the volunteers.  These guys did not complain one bit but instead jumped in and started getting the ball rollin with setup.  Then the Kidspoint volunteers had to carry all their stuff another 200 feet or more just to setup.

With that said, thank you Crosspoint volunteers!!!  Without you this could not be possible.  You hard work and effort does not go unnoticed.  Every single week people are talking about how friendly the greeters are, how much fun their child had in Kidspoint, how tight the production was, how awesome the band sounded, etc.  But more importantly, every single week lives are being changed because of your relentless efforts to create such an awesome worship experience.

Keep up the great work…The best is yet to come!

Again, thank you!

Last Sunday of “2008″

Monday, December 29th, 2008

What a day we had yesterday!  Here is a recap…

  1. 6 people stood up publicly and indicated they decided to follow Christ. (That put us over 50 people receiving Christ as their Lord and Savior in the last 11 months!  WOW!
  2. We made a challenge for $10,000 on Christmas Sunday and took in almost $11,000!  The neat thing is we are giving half of it away to the International Mission Board!
  3. We are having a rowdy crowd at the 10:00am worship experience.  They actually talk back to me during the message and I love it…The more they shout, amen, and clap the more pumped I get.  Maybe the 11:30am crowd will catch on…

God has been so good to Crosspoint Church in 2008.  When people told us that it was impossible to start a church in Morehead, KY, God showed up and did a miracle.  The crazy thing is we are just getting started.  God is going to rock our world in 2009.  We are about to crank it up and take it to a whole-nutha-level!  Trust me…you don’t want to miss what God is about to do.  The best is yet to come!!!

No Limit

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

You have to be kidding me….341 people this past Sunday in Morehead, KY?  Wow!  God is up to something great here.  This past Sunday I talked about putting God first in your finances.  It was tense at times, but, at other times, well…not so much!  (You’ll just have to watch or listen to the message.)  Managing your money in a way that will bring glory to God and allow you to break free from financial bondage is all about priorities.  If this is something that you want to do, then the first step that I would encourage you to take would be to get on a budget.  I know…easier said than done.  But you gotta get your mind around how you’re spending your money and where you can cut back in an effort to pay off debt.  Here are some tools that I highly recommend.  I had the privilege of meeting Joe last month and he is the real deal.  I have never seen a man so passionate about helping people get out of debt.  Check out his free tools HERE.

Well, I’m off to the ATL….Catalyst Conference is going to be awesome!
